Terrorists Open Fire At Army Post In Jammu And Kashmir's Rajouri

According to ABP News sources, a person was killed in the firing.

Terrorists opened fire at an Army post in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district and the armed forces have launched a search operation in the area. The terrorists launched the offensive at around 3:50 am on Sunday morning in which a person was inured, sources told ABP News.

The soldier was injured during the exchange of fire that continued for nearly half-an-hour between the two sides but the terrorists managed to flee into the nearby forest. 

The incident comes amid twin encounter between the security forces and terrorists in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday. The encounters took place in Frisal Chinnigam and Modergam areas of the south Kashmir district.

As per the officials, contact with terrorists was established during a cordon and search operation in the Frisal Chinnigam area. Four terrorists have been killed in the exchange of the fire so far, said the officials, adding their bodies have been sighted. 

Drone footage of the encounter site has shown four bodies lying there, but they could not be retrieved as firing was still going on, the officials said. 

Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kashmir, V K Birdhi said that the operation will continue.
