J&K: Pakistan violates ceasefire in Poonch; one police officer injured

As per the police, one police officer at SPO rank got injured due to Pakistani firing, who has now been admitted to the hospital. There was silence at the line of control from past two days which divides India and Pakistan, before Pakistan again resorted to firing on Friday.

Jammu: After a day of quiet, Pakistan on Saturday again violated ceasefire along Line of Control in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir. The troops targeted posts and villages. As per defence spokesperson, the firing took place between Seemapur, Shahpur and Kerani sector; to which Indian troops retaliated. The spokesperson said that Pakistan resorted to unprovoked ceasefire violation using heavy shelling and shelling with light weapons. He said that both sides have been firing continuously and there are no reports of any loss of life in India. On being questioned on return of Indian High Commissioner in Pakistan to Islamabad, External Affairs ministry spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said “Indian High Commissioner in Pakistan is returning to Islamabad after completion of discussions, he will reach Islamabad on March 9 and resume his duties.”
