'If it's 10 against one, who's the real hero?': Rajinikanth backs BJP, puts speculations to rest

The actor is considered close to BJP but his cryptic comments on Monday kept the saffron party guessing whether he's changed stance. Some leaders of the Tamil Nadu BJP, however, said that his comments were mocking the Congress.

Chennai: After his comments created a bit of a furore in the political circles of Tamil Nadu, actor-turned-politician Rajinikanth today clarified that the "Opposition feels in its head that the BJP is dangerous but in real it's for the people to decide whether the saffron party was dangerous or not." Sending out clear signals of his open support to the BJP and putting all speculations to rest, the veteran actor asked, "if it's ten against the BJP, then who is the real hero?" The comment was is reference to the Opposition parties partnering to dislodge the Modi government. Rajinikanth's allegiance to the BJP became more questionable when he said "the implementation of demonetisation was wrong and that the issue should be deliberated in detail. Rajinikanth had welcomed the move initially. His outfit is called Rajini Makkal Mandram (RMM) Rajinikanth said strict laws should be enforced against those who induldge in sexual harassment of girls.
