Holi 2019: President Kovind, PM Modi extend greetings to countrymen

Holi 2019: President Ram Nath Kovind extended greetings to the Parsi community on the festival of Navroz.

New Delhi: As the country rejoices on the occasion of Holi 2019, President of India Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended their warmest wishes to countrymen on the occasion of Navroz and Holi. President Kovind tweeted: “Greetings and best wishes to fellow citizens in India and abroad on the auspicious occasion of Holi. The festival of colours, Holi is a celebration of spring and fraternity in our society. May it bring peace, joy and prosperity to everyone’s lives.” Wishing the Parsi community on their festival Navroz, he wrote: “Navroz Mubarak to everyone, especially to our small, much-loved and overachieving Parsi community. May the coming year bring health and happiness to all our families.” “Greetings to all the countrymen on the auspicious occasion of Holi. This festival of joy and gaiety will further strengthen our unity and goodwill,” Prime Minister Modi wrote from his Twitter handle. Congress President Rahul Gandhi also extended greetings to the country on his and Congress’ behalf. He wrote on Twitter: “Heartfelt greetings to you and your family , from me and all Congress workers on the auspicious occasion of Holi.” “I pray to God that this festival makes your life shine in the colour of happiness,” he wrote. Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and Smriti Irani also tweeted on the occasion. Irani also wished the countrymen on the occasion of Navroz.
