The Delhi Police carried out a tear gas drill on Friday as part of their security preparations for the upcoming G20 Summit, which is slated to take place in the national capital on September 9 and 10, news agency ANI reported. Approximately 130,000 security personnel, including an 80,000-strong presence from the Delhi Police, would be deployed during the summit.
In a video released by news agency ANI, Delhi Police can be seen shooting tear gas while obeying directions. For this exercise, they picked a desolate spot.

Previously, practise sessions were held to train traffic cops and security staff for the movement of G20 Summit attendees in September.
Three carcade rehearsals were also held earlier on Saturday, each in three shifts, and went off without a hitch, according to authorities. The sites were fully staffed with security, traffic officers, paramedics, and firefighters throughout these rehearsals.
As the national capital is gearing up for the G20 Summit this weekend, the Bharat Mandapam in Delhi's Pragati Maidan, along with NDMC (New Delhi Municipal Council) building were illuminated in the colours of Tricolour on Friday evening.

In an video shared by the news agency ANI, the Bharat Mandapam, and NDMC building can be seen lit up with the Indian flag's colours.

G20 Summit
India is hosting the major Summit this year after taking over the G20 leadership on December 1, 2022, with the theme "One Earth, One Family, One Future." Over 30 heads of state, top European Union officials, invited guest countries, and 14 leaders of international organizations will attend the Summit, which will be held in the state-of-the-art Bharat Mandapam Convention Centre at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi.
At the Summit's conclusion, a G20 Leaders' Declaration will be adopted, declaring the Leaders' commitment to the goals discussed and agreed upon at the individual ministerial and working group sessions.
