Former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh Stable And Recovering, Informs AIIMS Official

Congress spokesperson Pranav Jha also stated that Dr Manmohan Singh is doing fine and is better than yesterday. The former PM was admitted to AIIMS, Delhi on Wednesday after his health deteriorated.

Dr Manmohan Singh Health Update: An AIIMS official on Friday informed that Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's condition is now stable and his health is improving.

Dr. Manmohan Singh is admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi. He was admitted on Wednesday after his health deteriorated.

Congress spokesperson Pranav Jha also stated that Dr Manmohan Singh is doing fine and is better than yesterday.

Taking to Twitter, Pranav Jha urged all to respect the privacy of the former Prime Minister.

"This is to inform that Dr Manmohan Singh ji is doing fine. He is better than yesterday. Let's all wish him a speedy recovery. Any unfounded speculation is unnecessary and in bad taste. Also, request all to respect the Former PM's privacy. Thank you!" the Congress spokesperson tweeted.

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya visited AIIMS on Thursday morning to enquire about Dr Manmohan Singh's health. The Union Health Minister stayed with him for some time and sought details about his health condition.

Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi had also reached AIIMS on Thursday to meet him.

A team of cardiologists led by Dr Nitish Naik is treating Manmohan Singh. He complained of fever two days ago and was feeling weak before being taken to AIIMS. The sources at AIIMS said that he had also complained of neck pain. The former PM tested COVID-19 positive during the second wave in April this year and was admitted to the hospital.

Coronary bypass surgery in 2009

In 2009, Manmohan Singh underwent coronary bypass surgery at AIIMS, Delhi, after which he visits the hospital for general examination as per the doctor's advise. He was also infected with the COVID-19 in April this year and then admitted to the AIIMS trauma centre.

Dr Manmohan Singh has served as Prime Minister for two consecutive terms during the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government's rule at the Centre from 2004 to 2014.
