Farmers' Protest: Delhi Police Withdraws Additional Force Deployed At Borders

As per an internal communication of Delhi Police, the additional forces to go back to their respective units and districts. As per Special Commissioner of Police (Operation and Licensing) Muktesh Chander, the entire staff will go back to their respective districts or units with effect from Tuesday.

Delhi Police had made adequate security arrangements and was put on high alert after the Red Fort Violence on Republic Day. The Delhi Police had beefed up the security across the national capital after farmers announced a chakka jam for three hours as a sign of protest against the three farm laws. Along with the police, military forces had been deployed on the roads in different areas of Delhi and its borders to avert any untoward incident.

Almost 3,500 policemen and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were deployed in Faridabad for security. Ambulances, cranes, fire brigades had been deployed. CCTVs were used for surveillance. 

The Ministry of Home Affairs had stopped internet services in Singhu, Ghazipur and Tikari border areas till 12 pm on February 6 due to the Chakka Jam. According to the ministry, the decision was taken keeping public safety in mind. 

The nationwide Chakka Jam organized by the Kisan Unions was conducted in a peaceful manner. Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Karnataka had the highest number of demonstrations. Farmers' unions had already made it clear that there would be no demonstrations in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
