Devendra Fadnavis Vs Nawab Malik: Former CM Claims NCP Leader Has 'Underworld Links', Latter Hits Back

While addressing the press conference Maharashtra Leader of the Opposition presented the proof of Malik's connection with the "Underworld."

New Delhi: Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday alleged that the Senior NCP leader Nawab Malik had struck a property deal with Sardar Shahwali Khan and Mohd Salim Ishaq Patel, who was the frontman of Dawood Ibrahim's sister, Haseena Parkar and were also convicted for their role in the 1993 Mumbai bomb blast.

While addressing the press conference Maharashtra Leader of the Opposition presented the proof of Malik's connection with the "Underworld." "Solidus investment is Nawab Malik’s company and the land was purchased from these underworld criminals. 3 acre land at LBS road got purchased only for ₹20 lakh. The original value is ₹3 crores!!! Why did you purchase land from criminals of Mumbai," the Office of Devendra tweeted on Tuesday.

Refuting the allegations, Nawab Malik said that all the transactions were done legally.

Senior BJP leader while levelling the accusations of NCP leader's connections with the underworld said that Malik had paid Rs 15 lakh to Sardar Shahwali Ali Khan and Rs 5 lakh to Mohd Salim Patel. However, the property deal was worth Rs 30 lakh but only Rs 20 lakh were paid, he said.

The property worth Rs 8,500 per square meter was purchased by the Senior NCP leader at the value of Rs 25 per square meter, Fadnavis said.

"In such serious matter where underworld, bomb blast convicts have connections with Minister Nawab Malik, I will submit the documents to appropriate agencies for further investigation," he said. 

In response to the accusations of connection with the underworld, Nawab Malik promised to drop a truth bomb of his own and expose Devendra Fadnavis's alleged links with the underworld. "I will drop a hydrogen bomb tomorrow in connection with Devendra Fadnavis. I will expose Devendra Fadnavis' underworld links," he said.

"Devendra Fadnavis is trying to malign my image by connecting me to blast convicts & the underworld. They did the same by saying that the drug was recovered from my place, will send him legal notice," Maharashtra minister further adds.
