Bengaluru: Ruckus Between Civic Officials & Residents While Shifting Corona Suspects To Quarantine; Watch Video
A commotion erupted in Padarayanapura, Bengaluru when authorities tried to shift people to a quarantine facility. The ruckus began over alleged shifting of coronavirus suspects to quarantine by the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike's (BBMP) officials.
New Delhi: A chaos erupted in Padarayanapura, Bengaluru when authorities tried to shift people to a quarantine facility. The ruckus began over alleged shifting of coronavirus suspects to quarantine by the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike's (BBMP) officials.
According to a report by ANI the officials reached the area to get 15 secondary contacts of corona positive patients. When a group of miscreants started creating a ruckus by going on a rampage breaking the barricades and pulling out police posts.
The area which falls in West Bengaluru has been declared as a ‘Red Zone’ due to the concentration of coronavirus cases in the area.
In the video that has since gone viral in social media, people can be seen shouting, running amok in the street breaking tables and chairs. The police were called to the spot and they were able to control the situation. On April 10 officials from the BBMP had sealed Padarayanapura along with Bapuji Nagar Ward. So far, these are only two areas in the city that have been sealed.

The MLA of the ward Zameer Ahmed Khan took to Twitter to ask people to remain calm and follow instructions given by the authorities. In it he highlighted the importance of quarantine and wrote ‘This seal down is essential to protect your lives. So stay at home & prevent the spread.’
Bengaluru South Deputy Commissioner of Police Bhaskar Rao also Tweeted regarding the lockdown, ‘Lockdown continues, please remain indoors. Tomorrow will be as it was till today. We Understand your situation and appreciate your cooperation.’
According to data by the Ministry of Health and Family Affairs, Karnataka has recorded over 390 confirmed cases of coronavirus and has so far had 16 deaths.
