Covid Cases Update: India Reports Over 24K Fresh Cases, Active Caseload Lowest In 197 Days

Covid Cases India: Of 24,354 new cases reported in India in the last 24 hours, Kerala alone recorded 13,834 new cases and 95 deaths yesterday.

Corona Cases In India: After a surge in the number of cases for three days, straight, India's number of cases to be reported in the last 24 Hrs has gone down. The country reported 24,354 new Covid cases, 28,246 recoveries & 277 deaths in the last 24 hours, as per Union Health Ministry.

Active cases: 2,75,224

Total cases: 3,37,66,707

Total recoveries: 3,30,68,599

Death toll: 4,48,339

Total vaccination: 89,74,00,000 (Approx)

89.74 Cr. vaccine doses have been administered so far under Nationwide Vaccination Drive. Good news is that the active cases account for less than 1% of total cases, currently at 0.81%w which is the lowest since March 2020. 

India's Active caseload stands at 2,73,889 which is the lowest in 197 days. The Recovery Rate currently is at 97.86% which again is the highest since March 2020

25,455 recoveries in the last 24 hours increase the total Recoveries to 3,30,68,599. Weekly Positivity Rate is at 1.68% which has been less than 3% for last 99 days

Kerala

Even though there has been a slight slowdown in the increase in the number of cases, Kerala's situation doesn't seem to be in control. Of 24,354 new cases reported in India in the last 24 hours, Kerala alone recorded 13,834 new cases and 95 deaths yesterday.

Kerala on Friday witnessed a surge in Coronavirus cases as the state recorded 15,914 fresh COVID-19 cases and 122 deaths, which took the caseload to 46,80,885 and the toll to 25,087.
