New Delhi: The criticism of Congress party on the Central government got sharpened on Sunday over its approach in handling the spread of the Coronavirus outbreak in the country. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday prompted Prime Minister Narendra Modi to clear "bottlenecks" and ramp up coronavirus testing in the country. Quoting experts, Gandhi said, "random testing is the key to beating the virus". India has to scale up COVID-19 testing from the current 40,000 to one lakh tests per day, he said. Talking to Twitter, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi told Prime Minister Narendra Modi needs to act fast and clear the bottleneck that is stopping India from scaling testing from the current 40,000 per day to one lakh tests a day. Rahul Gandhi quoted, "Experts agree that mass random testing is the key to beating Corona. In India, a bottleneck is stopping us from scaling testing from the current 40,000 per day to 1 lakh tests a day, for which test kits are already in stock". Although there's a relief as the rate of growth of the infection has slowed down, which the experts say is a sign that the country may have been able to largely avoid the initial deadly spectre of the pathogen that has damaged countries across the world.
