Shashi Tharoor Takes A Dig At Centre After Youth Cong Leader Srinivas Provides Oxygen To NZ High Commission

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor was quick enough to express the deplorable situation of the government on the social media platform saying the youth leader of an Opposition party had to solve a problem which the inept government couldn't.

At a time when India has emerged as the global hotspot of Coronavirus with the country's medical infrastructure crumbling due to acute shortage of medical facilities and also impacting the vaccination drive, India Youth Congress President Srinivas BV and a team of SOSIYC extended help to the New Zealand (NZ) high commission in India who appealed on the social micro-blogging site for oxygen cylinders. 

SOSIYC is the relief campaign of the Indian Youth Congress during the lockdown. Congress MP Shashi Tharoor was quick enough to express the deplorable situation of the government on the social media platform saying the youth leader of an Opposition party had to solve a problem which the inept government couldn't. However, the tweet to which the Congress leader responded to the New Zealand Commission's request has been deleted on the platform. Although it took a political turn after Tharoor shared the screenshot of the deleted tweet on the social media platform indicating the government's inability to handle the current pandemic that had swept the country. Tharoor also questioned the ruling party at the state of Centre's action on the appeal.

Sharing the update on the embassy's requirement of oxygen cylinders, India Youth Congress President Srinivas BV said the embassy accepted cylinders while thanking the team for this quick relief as patient inside embassy was critically ill.

After reaching the premise of the embassy with oxygen cylinders, Srinivas tweeted to open the gates and help save the soul. 

Meanwhile, the embassy apologised for the tweet through its official account saying, "We are trying all sources to arrange for oxygen cylinders urgently and our appeal has unfortunately been misinterpreted, for which we are sorry."
 
Last month, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor had tested positive for the novel coronavirus. The MP from Thiruvananthapuram also tweeted informing that his sister and 85-year-old mother have also tested positive for coronavirus.
