'I Know My Limits': Chirag Paswan On Working In Bihar With CM Nitish Kumar As Ally

During an interview with ABP News, Chirag touched upon several topics, from his equation with PM Modi to his relationship with uncle Pashupati Paras and friendship with fellow MP Kangana Ranaut.

Union minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan spoke about working with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar as alliance partners in the ruling NDA government after the two had a spell of bitter discord. Chirag said that coming together in alliance gave the two leaders a chance for an open discussion.

"I had concerns with Nitish Kumar over several things for quite a long time but when you become part of the coalition, I believe you either stay away from it but if you decide to be a part of it then you have to be absolutely honest to it," Chirag said during an interview with ABP News.

"Keeping aside the differences, I had an open discussion on every issue with the CM and that's when I realised that you get the chance to have those discussions when you are in an alliance," he added.

"I know my limits," he said, adding "No one knows your weight better than you so I don't throw my extra weight around."

The feud between the two began during the 2020 Bihar elections when Chirag contested against Nitish's Janata Dal-United.

During the candid conversation, Chirag touched upon several other topics, from his equation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to his relationship with his uncle Pashupati Paras and friendship with fellow Parliamentarian Kangana Ranaut.

Chirag's admiration for PM Modi is not hidden from anyone, but he also said that he had voiced his difference of opinion with him on several issues like lateral entry and creamy layer. On relations with his uncle Pashupati Paras, Chirag said he does "not think of any possibility of reconciliation." "Can never say never, but he is very clear when it comes to me," he said.

The Hajipur MP called Kangana Ranaut a "good friend" who worked with him "on an extremely bad movie and both of us survived through that movie." Speaking about his acting career, the Lok Sabha MP said he did not leave Bollywood but "Bollywood left me."

On the personal front, Chirag said he has no plans of marriage for the next year adding that he is focusing on the Bihar elections slated for next year.
