Increase In Chinese Deployments In Forward Areas A Matter Of Concern: Army Chief General

The Army Chief has said that the Indian Army is regularly monitoring the movement of the PLA's China.

New Delhi: The Chief of the Indian Army Staff General MM Naravane has expressed concern over the People's Liberation Army of China deploying its troops in considerable numbers all across Eastern Ladakh, and the Northern front right up to the Eastern command.

"Chinese have deployed in considerable numbers all across Eastern Ladakh & Northern front right up to our Eastern command. Definitely, there has been an increase in their deployment in the forward areas which remains a matter of concern for us," the Army Chief informed ANI.

The Army Chief further said that the Indian Army is regularly monitoring the movement of the PLA's China.

"We're regularly monitoring all their movements. Based on inputs we get, we're also carrying out matching developments both in infrastructure as well in terms of troops that are needed to counter any threat. At the moment, we're quite well poised to meet any eventuality," he said.

Earlier in August during the second disengagement round, both sides had pulled back their troops from Gogra point.

India is actively looking for a long-term resolution to the border stand-off with China's PLA and is pursuing the possibility that the two sides can agree on further disengagement of the troops at the next round of Corps Commander talks.
