BSF Shoots Down Pakistani Drone Violating Indian Airspace In Amritsar
The drone was intercepted by the BSF which was violating the Indian airspace. The drone was shot down and later recovered during a search operation, said the BSF Punjab Frontier.
The Border Security Force has shot down a drone in Amritsar that had violated the Indian airspace, said the BSF Punjab Frontier on Saturday. The drone was intercepted by the BSF and then recovered later during a search, reported news agency ANI.
“A drone from Pakistan violated Indian Airspace & was intercepted (by fire) by BSF troops of the Amritsar Sector. During the search, a drone has been recovered. Further search operations underway. This is the fourth drone shot down by BSF in the past 2 days,” said the BSF Punjab Frontier, reported by the news agency.

Last month, on April 15, the BSF had shot down an intruding drone near the India-Pakistan border. The drone was spotted at Bachiwind village near the international border at 3.21 am on Saturday. BSF troops recovered three packets of heroin weighing around 3.2 kg.
Two days earlier, on April 13, the Indian security forces had shot down a drone flying into the Indian side from along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district.
The drone was recovered from the BERI Pattan area of the Sunderbani sector during joint searches by the Army troops and Jammu and Kashmir Police.
On April 3, Jammu Police had recovered a cache of arms and explosive materials from a package suspected to have been airdropped by a drone from across the International Border in Jammu and Kashmir's Samba district.
On April 1, the BSF had detected and foiled a Pakistani drone movement attempt at the International Border (IB) in the Ramgarh sector of Jammu.
