'BJP's Work Not Just On Paper': PM Modi Lauds Gujarat's Bharuch On 100% Coverage Of Utkarsh Financial Schemes

PM Modi addressed the 'Utkarsh Samaroh' after talking to the beneficiaries and hailed the achievement of the Bharuch administration under the guidance of Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupinder Patel.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the "Utkarsh Samaroh" in Gujarat's Bharuch on Thursday via video conferencing. The event was organised to mark the 100 per cent saturation of four key state government schemes in the district which will help provide timely financial assistance to those in need, according to PMO. 

The district administration had carried out a special drive -- "Utkarsh Initiative" --from January 1 to March 31 this year, with the aim to ensure the complete coverage of schemes providing assistance to widows, elderly and destitute citizens.

A total of 12,854 beneficiaries were identified across the four schemes — Ganga Swaroopa Aarthik Sahay Yojana, Indira Gandhi Vrudh Sahay Yojana, Niradhar Vrudh Aarthik Sahay Yojana, and Rashtriya Kutumb Sahay Yojana.

Before addressing the event, PM Modi interacted with the beneficiaries of 'Utkarsh Initiative' and spoke about how the schemes by the state governments and how is it shaping their lives. 

PM Modi turns emotional

While talking to one of the beneficiaries PM Modi turned emotional while talking to his daughter. One of the beneficiaries of the scheme went to Saudi Arabia a few years ago and used an eye drop which took away his vision and turned him blind. He told PM Modi that one of his daughters want to grow up. When the Prime Minister spoke to his daughter and asked her the reason behind her ambition, she got teary-eyed and said that she want to become a daughter due to his father's problem. Listening to that PM Modi turned emotional. He said the man to do everything to fulfill the dream of his daughter and he is there to support him.

PM Modi addresses 'Utkarsh Samaroh'

PM Modi addressed the 'Utkarsh Samaroh' after talking to the beneficiaries and hailed the achievement of the Bharuch administration under the guidance of Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupinder Patel. PM Modi said that this achievement has set a benchmark for others. He also said lauded the efforts of the leaders who made sure that the schemes reach every individual taking it to a saturation point. 

Targetting the opposition, PM Modi said that today's achievement shows that the work done is not only an advertisement in newspapers but is the ground reality. PM Modi also said, "often due to lack of information many people are deprived of the benefits of the schemes. Sometimes plans are left on paper. But when the intention is clear, the policy is clear, there is an intention to do good work, there is a spirit of development for all, then we see the results."

The state government also shared taluka-wise WhatsApp helpline number for people to register complaints or query related to the schemes or if they are not receiving the benefits, 

Utkarsh camps were organised in all villages and wards of municipality areas of the district for applicants to provide necessary documents for on-spot approval. Incentives were also given to Utkarsh assistants to further facilitate the drive, the PMO said.
