Amritsar tragedy: AAP MLA HS Phoolka 'regrets' after making shameful statement against Army Chief
The National Investigative Agency began its probe in the case on Sunday evening. Taking stock of situation, even Punjab Chief Minister Amrinder Singh is set to visit the site of attack on Monday.
New Delhi: A day after the nerve chilling grenade attack on Nirankari Dera in Amritsar claimed 3 lives and injured 20 people; Aam Aadmi Party MLA HS Phoolka has made a shocking statement. Phoolka has suspected Army Chief Bipin Rawat’s hand behind the attack. Speaking on the incident, Phulka said “Sena Chief made a statement in Punjab, for all one knows he must have gotten the attack done just to probe his statement right. It is worth thinking”.
“Last government got an attack done on its own, it is not right to say Punjab’s atmosphere isn’t good” he added. Army Chief Bipin Rawat had said that “external agents are trying to create violence in Punjab”. No reaction has come from AAP on Phulka’s statement so far.
The National Investigative Agency began its probe in the case on Sunday evening. Taking stock of situation, even Punjab Chief Minister Amrinder Singh is set to visit the site of attack on Monday.
The incident took place when two motorcycle-borne men threw grenade on a religious congregation on city outskirts. The police are treating the incident as a "terrorist act".
The incident took place inside the Nirankari Bhavan's prayer hall at Adliwal village near Amritsar's Rajasansi, police said. A congregation of the Nirankari followers was being held inside at the time.
The Sant Nirankari Mission is a spiritual organisation and the Bhavan here is located close to the international airport and Indo-Pak border. My statement has been totally misunderstood. Please see the full video, the whole statement was actually against the Congress, and not against the respected Army Chief. Still, it was an inadvertent comment and I regret it: HS Phoolka #AmritsarBlast pic.twitter.com/wxugDVsyTb
