Air Ambulance Crashes In Kedarnath, Rear Section Damaged: VIDEO

AIIMS Rishikesh air ambulance crash-landed at Kedarnath; all three onboard safe. Investigation underway into the helicopter’s tail damage.

An AIIMS Rishikesh air ambulance carrying a pilot, a doctor, and a medical staff member encountered an accident while attempting to land at the Kedarnath helipad. After reaching Kedarnath, the helicopter lost balance, which forced the pilot to execute an emergency landing. During this process, the helicopter crash-landed, causing significant damage to the rear part of the aircraft, specifically breaking its tail section.

Thanks to the pilot’s quick thinking and skill, all three passengers on board escaped without injury. Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey confirmed to ANI that despite the helicopter’s damage, the pilot, doctor, and medical staff member are safe. The incident created chaos and concern among locals and pilgrims in Kedarnath, but fortunately, no casualties were reported.

Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident. The helicopter belongs to AIIMS Rishikesh’s heli ambulance service, which is frequently used to provide medical support in the difficult terrain of the region. This incident highlights the challenges of air travel in mountainous areas, especially during emergency landings.
