Actor Irrfan Khan undergoing cancer treatment at London hospital: Report

The national award winner has given some outstanding performances in films like "Paan Singh Tomar", "Talvar", "Maqbool", "7 Khoon Maaf", "Piku" and "Hindi Medium". In the West, he has starred in films like "The Namesake", "Life of Pi", "A Mighty Heart", "Slumdog Millionaire", "The Amazing Spider-Man" and "Inferno".

New Delhi: Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan is reportedly undergoing cancer treatment in London. He had revealed in March that he has been diagnosed with neuroendocrine tumour and is going out of the country for treatment. According to a newspaper Nivan Times report, the actor is being treated for cancer at The Princess Grace hospital in London. He has been administered chemo-therapies twice for the deadly disease since his admission. Doctor Peter Harper is currently looking after his medical care, the report added. There were reports earlier that he was in the US for medical treatment. The actor is set to miss the promotions of his upcoming movie ‘Karwan’ which also stars Dulquer Salman and Mithila Palkar.   The movie is scheduled to release on August 10. Irrfan had also shared the poster of the film two weeks ago - which is produced by Ronnie Screwvala. WATCH OUR NEWS REPORT BELOW:  In March the actor send out a message through his Twitter handle explaining about the medical issue. "The unexpected makes us grow, which is what the past few days have been about. Learning that I have been diagnosed with neuroendocrine tumour as of now has admittedly been difficult, but the love and strength of those around me and that I found within me has brought me to a place of hope," the highly-acclaimed actor said in a statement. "The journey of this is taking me out of the country, and I request everyone to continue sending their wishes. As for the rumours that were floated, neuro is not always about the brain and Googling is the easiest way to do research;-) To those who waited for my words, I hope to be back with more stories to tell," the 51-year-old added. His last movie "Blackmail" released on April 6 prior to which he wasn’t available for the promotional activities. The film did not gain much at the Box Office.
