'ACs Off, Passengers Made To Suffer': Congress Leader Shares 'Horrifying Experience' On IndiGo Flight

In a social media post, Warring urged DGCA and AAI to take strict action against the airline so that the passengers don't have to face such incidents again.

New Delhi: Punjab Congress Committee president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring lashed out at IndiGo Airlines, alleging that he had "one of the most horrifying experiences while traveling from Chandigarh to Jaipur." He claimed that the passengers were made to travel without air conditioning inside the aircraft.

In a social media post, Warring urged the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and the Airports Authority of India (AAI) to take strict action against the airline so that passengers don't have to go through such incidents again.

“Had one of the most horrifying experiences while traveling from Chandigarh to Jaipur today in Aircraft 6E7261 by @IndiGo6E. We were made to wait for about 10-15 minutes in the queue in the scorching sun and when we entered the Plane, to our shock, the ACs weren't working and the flight took off without the ACs on! Right from the take off to landing, the ACs were off and all the passengers were made to 'Suffer' throughout the journey,” Warring wrote on Twitter.

He also shared a video of the incident, where passengers could be seen fanning themselves with tissues and papers.

“No one addressed the serious concern during the flight. In fact, the air hostess ‘generously’ distributed tissue papers to the passengers to wipe off their sweat. Most of the passengers including women and children were restless and agitated… It was clearly a major technical issue but the authorities concerned just wanted to mince money that is why the health and comfort of the passengers was put at stake,” he added.

In the last couple of days, two reports of technical snags on IndiGo flights were reported. A Delhi-bound IndiGo flight was forced to make an emergency landing just three minutes after take-off at Patna airport on Friday after one of its engines malfunctioned.

In another incident, an IndiGo flight flying to Ranchi returned to Delhi airport within an hour after its takeoff on Saturday morning following a technical snag.
