AAP rift escalates: 40 MLAs stand united against Amanatullah Khan
New Delhi: Days after Aam Aadmi Party faced a massive defeat in the Delhi Municipal elections, the internal rift in the party can be seen escalating, with party MLAs on rampage against MLA Amanatullah Khan.
As per reports, 40 AAP MLAs have handed over a letter to Party Chief Arvind Kejriwal. The letter which has been signed by all 40 MLAs, demands removal of Amanatullah Khan from Aam Aadmi Party’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC).
As per reports, this comes after Khan levied serious allegations against Kumar Vishwas, who is currently a National Executive of the party.
Amanatullah had accused Vishwas of behind hand-in-glove with Bharatiya Janta Party and running a conspiracy against AAP. He had also said that ‘Vishwas was attempting to bring internal rift in Aam Aadmi Party on the order from BJP’.
Kejriwal denies any rift in party:
Rubbishing the speculation of rifts in the party, AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday took to his Twitter account and claimed that Kumar Vishwas is like his younger brother and nobody can separate them.
"Kumar is my younger brother. Some people are showing a rift between us, such people are the enemies of the party. They should desist. No one can separate us." he tweeted.
Cracks starting appearing in party after party workers demanded that Kumar Vishwas be appointed as party convenor and Kejriwal should focus upon governing Delhi.
Other party leaders also deny intra-party rift:
Commenting on the same, AAP leader Kapil Mishra also denied allegations of cracks in the party and said “AAP is a democratic party where every member has the right to put their views across. It does not mean there's any rift in the party."
On the other hand, AAP Minister Imran Hussain on Monday lashed out at Amanatullah for making such allegations against Vishwas. "It is unfortunate that Amanatullah Khan's made such allegations. It is his personal comment and I condemn it" he said.

AAP faces a string of defeats:
AAP has suffered defeats, one after another in last two months. It performed far below expectations in Punjab and Goa.
With poor performance in MCD polls, it lost the good faith and trust that the Delhi voter had put in them in 2015.
Kejriwal, who had blamed EVM tampering for loss, on Saturday, admitted that the party made some crucial mistakes which led to their heavy defeat in the civic polls.
