25-Year-Old Man Killed On Moving Dakshin Express Train In Brawl With Thieves; 4 Detained

A 25-year-old man was murdered on a moving Hyderabad-Delhi Dakshin Express as he confronted thieves who allegedly stole his money. Based on the tipoff, the Government Railway Police (GRP) detained four suspects when the train arrived at Nagpur in Maharashtra.
The victim, identified as Shashank Ramsingh Raj, was a resident of Rajapur Kaimhara in Lakhimpur Kheri district of Uttar Pradesh. He was traveling from Secunderabad to Jhansi on Dakshin Express train.
According to officials, the incident occurred around 3:30 AM in the general compartment of the train, as reported by PTI.
Raj and his friends were sleeping near a toilet when four individuals allegedly stole Rs 1,700 from his pocket. The miscreants also attempted to steal a mobile phone from another passenger who woke up and managed to get it back.
Realising that his money was missing, Raj confronted the thieves and demanded they return it. Following this, a violent brawl ensued between him and the accused. Soon, the accused brutally kicked and punched Raj. They also assaulted other passengers who tried to intervene.
Raj later vomited blood and fell unconscious. When the train reached Nagpur station at 9:15 AM, railway doctors examined him and declared him dead.
The passengers managed to apprehend two of the suspects, while the other two hid on the train. The GRP at Nagpur detained all four accused, identified as Mohd Fayyaz Mohd Hashimuddin (19), Sayyad Sameer Sayyad Jimal (18), M Shyam Koteshwar Rao (21), and Mohd Amam Mohd Akbar (19), all residents of Hyderabad, as per the report.
An FIR for murder has been registered. The case has been transferred to the GRP in Mancherial, Telangana, for further investigation.
