The Regional Meteorological Centre forecast light to moderate rain at isolated locations in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal with mist or haze likely in certain areas during early morning hours.

The northeast monsoon is set to withdraw by January 15, 2025 in Tamil Nadu leading to predominantly dry weather across many parts of South India.  The India Meteorological Department (IMD) stated that the cyclonic circulation over the Equatorial Indian Ocean and adjoining southwest Bay of Bengal at 0.9 km above mean sea level has become less marked.
