Chevrolet to launch next-gen Beat in 2017

New Delhi: Chevrolet will launch its next-gen Chevrolet Beat next year, contrary to earlier reports stating that the remodeled Beat would launch late this year. The Spin MPV would be shelved, while a freshly facelifted next-gen Beat will be launched early next year, reflecting the rise in market demand and the growing customer preference for hatchbacks in India. Though the sales of the current Beat dwindled, the launch of the new Beat will happen in early 2017. The new Beat will take design cues from the Spark as well as the current Beat model, with the same frame and styling. The front fascia will get a new two-part chrome grille, with the logo dang in the middle. The chrome-styling renders a sort of aesthetic look, making the front-styling more pronounced, appealing and attractive. The headlamps will be larger than in the current Beat with a larger housing. The fog lamps flank the bumper below, which also comes redesigned, looking much subtler than with the current Beat. The rear is expected to have revised tail-lamps with LED, while the interior will have a dual-tone dashboard with a 7-inch MyLink Infotainment system. The engine of the new next-gen Beat will be re-tuned to deliver a better power output and fuel economy, though it will essentially be the same as the 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine with petrol and diesel versions. Safety equipment as the airbags and ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) will be standard and available on all trims of the hatchback. Besides the next-gen Beat, the Beat Activ crossover, showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo, is also in the pipeline. Source-vicky.in
