Bihar: 1-Year-Old Raped At Home, Mother Returns From Bath To Find Her Bleeding

A one-year-old girl child was raped when he mother had left her in a cot while she took a bath. Police don't have a suspect.

A one-year-old child was raped by an unknown individual, during a family visit to a relative’s house for a wedding in Dhar district in Bihar on Wednesday.

According to The Times Of India (TOI), Sardarpur subdivisional police officer Vishwadeep Singh Parihar said that the mother had left the child on a cot while she took a bath. However, she rushed out when she heard her baby crying out loud, “and found blood on the lower torso. Her clothes were torn”.

The local outpost in-charge, Gulab Singh Bhayadiya, told TOI, that the woman and her relatives first took the child to a private hospital and later to a community health centre (CHC).

It owner of the private hospital said that as soon as the doctors saw the child’s injuries on her genitals, he called the Block Medical Officer (BMO), Dr Sheila Mujalda was immediately referred to the CHC.

This comes about a week, after a 12-year-old girl allegedly raped while she was travelling with her family in the AC compartment of an express train was by another passenger in the toilet, in the early hours of Thursday.

In the family’s complaint, the man had cornered the child while she was going to the toilet alone because the family was asleep. The accused allegedly confined her in the toilet for over 30 minutes, assaulted her, and also recorded the act on his phone. Following this, he threatened her with dire consequences if she told anyone, and he allowed her to go back to her seat.

However, the girl informed her parents the next morning. Her father then confronted the accused and seized his mobile phone, where he discovered photos and videos of his daughter.

Following the father's complaint, a rape case has been registered under the POCSO Act as well as relevant sections of the IT Act, according to a press release issued by the Government Railway Police (GRP).
