Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project Will Transform City's Infrastructure: PM Modi

New Delhi: PM Modi laid a foundation stone for the Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project (BSRP), which will connect the capital city of Karnataka with suburbs and satellite townships. While addressing a public gathering at Kommaghatta, PM Modi said that the rail project which is long pending for 40 years will be completed in 40 months.

Taking to his Twitter handle, PM Modi assured that the project will transform city's infrastructure and he claimed that it will play crucial role in boosting economic activity. "The Bengaluru Suburban Rail project will transform the city’s infrastructure. It will ensure comfortable and convenient travel for the dynamic people of Bengaluru. It will also boost economic activities," the PM tweeted.

Meanwhile, a German state-owned investment and development bank KfW Bankengruppe has announced that they will fund Rs 4,000 crore  for the Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project, said Deccan Herald report.

Rail Infrastructure Development Company (Karnataka) Limited, known as KRIDE, is waiting for the approval of the government tender for the second corridor from Baiyyappanahalli-Chikkabanavara. L&T has reportedly emerged the lowest bidder with Rs 850 crore quote for the 41.4 km corridor.
