Army Recovers Arms And Ammunition During Search Operation In Harwan Forest Area Of Srinagar

Srinagar: Combined Forces have launched a cordon and search operation on the outskirts of Srinagar on Tuesday and recovered arms and ammunition during the operation. According to official sources, a search operation was launched by soldiers from 5 and 20 Rashtriya Rifles in Harwan forest area in the outskirts of Srinagar. During the operation, a hideout was busted and arms and ammunition recovered, claimed the forces. The hideout was close to Dachigam National Park. Meanwhile, two terrorists were killed and a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) trooper was martyred on Tuesday in a gunfight in the Bandzoo area of J&K's Pulwama district. 2 AK-47 were also recovered from the terrorists. The CRPF head constable was critically injured but later succumbed to the injuries. He received gunshot wounds when terrorists opened fired during the cordon operation. This comes a day after three terrorists, including one involved in the killing of BSF jawans in Poonch area, were gunned down by security forces in Zadibal area of Srinagar. Notably, security forces made several attempts to make them surrender but they refused.
