Elvish Yadav Faces Legal Trouble Over Rave Party, Here's Why Such Parties Are Illegal In India

Bigg Boss OTT 2 winner Elvish Yadav is facing charges stemming from a rave party raid in Noida. During the operation, police were able to seize nine snakes. Five people have been taken into custody. The accused have reportedly admitted to providing snakes for parties planned by Elvish.

YouTuber Elvish Yadav has just posted a video on his social media handles. He claimed on the video that he had nothing to do with the event and was willing to help the police.

What is a Rave Party?

A rave party consists mostly of dance events with electronic music that lasts all night. The typical rave environment consists of dimly lit rooms with flashing lights and loud music. These parties usually begin at midnight and last until dawn. DJs spin tunes from many genres, while live bands and dancers are other options for celebrations.

It's worth noting, however, that raves have a checkered history when it comes to the law, with problems including drug usage, noise pollution, security, and the necessity for official permits and licenses.

Named after the Jamaican word for "party," "rave" started in the 1980s. The usage of ecstasy was widespread throughout the early stages of the rave scene. Many early ravegoers, though not all, did partake in drug usage. Drugs like ecstasy, methamphetamine, cocaine, and hallucinogens are all common at rave parties, whether they are legal or not.

Why rave parties are illegal in India?

While it's not against the law to stay out all night, several of the rituals used during raves are. The usage of illicit substances, such as MDMA, is often connected with rave culture. These substances are illegal in India, and if caught with them or using them, one might face serious repercussions.

In certain areas, permits are required for the planning and execution of large-scale events like rave parties. The lack of proper licensing might lead to legal complications.

Involvement of minors, drug dealers and fatal drug overdoses are also some of the main reasons why such parties are illegal in India.
