These parties usually begin at midnight and last until dawn. DJs spin tunes from many genres, while live bands and dancers are other options for celebrations.

It's worth noting, however, that raves have a checkered history when it comes to the law, with problems including drug usage, noise pollution, security, and the necessity for official permits and licenses.

Named after the Jamaican word for "party," "rave" started in the 1980s. The usage of ecstasy was widespread throughout the early stages of the rave scene. Many early ravegoers, though not all, did partake in drug usage. Drugs like ecstasy, methamphetamine, cocaine, and hallucinogens are all common at rave parties, whether they are legal or not.

These substances are illegal in India, and if caught with them or using them, one might face serious repercussions.

In certain areas, permits are required for the planning and execution of large-scale events like rave parties. The lack of proper licensing might lead to legal complications.

Involvement of minors, drug dealers and fatal drug overdoses are also some of the main reasons why such parties are illegal in India.
