New Delhi: One of the most significant celebrations for married women is Karwa Chauth, especially in northern and western India. Women observe a day-long fast (which includes refraining from drinking water) and offer prayers for their husbands' long lives and successful marriages on this day.

On the fourth day of Krishna Paksha Chaturthi, which falls during the Hindu month of Kartik, people observe a fast for Karwa Chauth. Karwa Chauth will be celebrated on October 13 this year. Check out the following DOs and DONTs you should be aware of during Karwa Chauth Vrat:

DOs Of Karwa Chauth Vrat You Should Know:

  • Add More Nutrition To Your Sargi: A mother-in-law gifting sargi to her daughter-in-law is more than just custom. Have the correct food before sunrise because you'll be fasting all day, which will keep you fuller for longer and give you more energy.
  • Include Dry Fruits: Include dry fruits like walnuts, almonds, and pistachios in your Sargi along with fruits like papaya, banana, pomegranate, and apples. These foods, which are high in protein and fiber, will help stave off hunger for longer.
  • Drink Plenty Of Water: To be well hydrated before the fast, consume as much water and juice as you can.
  • Add High-Sugar Content In Sargi: Dry foods like dates and figs are preferable to sweets in sargi. Sweets can increase your need for liquids as well as increase your hunger.
  • Wear Auspicious Colour Outfits: Since red, orange, and yellow are regarded as auspicious colours, wear them while fasting.
