In a chat with ABP Live, Janvi shared how she began her journey with TikTok, discussed her idea of fashion and creativity, and also talked about her personal style.

New Delhi: Being fond of dance as a child to uploading her videos on TikTok- a platform where she recieved a lot of love and appreciation, this is the story of Janvi, who is now a renowned fashion influencer, famous for her sartorial choices. Known as 'JustJanvi' over Instagram, she is a self-learned dancer who gradually ventured into fashion and is now one of the top fashion influencers in the country having a base of around 1.4 million followers. Starting with TikTok and moving on to Instagram, her journey has been quite a big one.

In a chat with ABP Live, Janvi shared how she began her journey with TikTok, where she used to post her dance videos. She said, "My family did not allow me to be on Instagram, so I started with TikTok. But after that, when I completed my tenth, I guess I was allowed to use Instagram. So, I had to bring all my TikTok audience to Instagram. This made me start making more content, which of course I loved doing."

Janvi is really passionate about dance, especially belly dancing. It can be said that her journey as an influencer began through her dance skills. She calls herself a self-trained dancer and says that she is very good at picking up choreography.

"I'm a self-learned answer, and I believe that I am very good at it. Also, I am really good at picking up the steps and I think I have made almost all of the dance trends on Instagram."

Speaking more about dance, she said, "I try most forms of dance, like freestyling, hip hop etc. Actually, whatever is trending, I just try to do it, and try to take it because learning is always there, no matter in whichever stage of life you are in."

From dance to fashion- Janvi also shared how the transition came. She said, "Slowly, I realised that I love to change my outfit for every dance video. So, that's how my fashion story started, I would then onwards make a few outfits as well for my videos."

"Also, I don't like to repeat my clothes. This is a trait I might have received from my mum. So, whenever I require new clothes, I try to recreate something from my old ones, like maybe, I would cut down my shorts or T-Shirt to make something new.", Janvi further added.

Talking about what fashion means to her, Janvi said, "For me, fashion is something through which you can express yourself that 'This is me'. Some people like bold fashion, while others might prefer soft fashion. Some people are very much into bikinis and swimwear because they want to flaunt their bodies. So, fashion is all about the way people want themselves to be seen."

Blingy, Classy And Chic

Janvi, who does not like repeating her clothes, and often tries to recreate something from her old ones, talked about her personal style. She said that she likes it all blingy and classy.

"I love blingy, so my personal style consists of minimal yet, classy and chic clothing. I love experimenting as well. Actually, I haven't settled on my personal style yet. Other than chic and classy, I love to go in comfy clothes as well."

Sustainable Fashion:

Now that sustainability is on the rise and almost everyone is taking steps towards it, be it in the tourism sector, fashion sector, or maybe food as well. In this regard, Janvi also discussed her idea of sustainable fashion and said, "My idea is to try to use your clothes in as many ways as possible. It's not important that you have to wear your skirt as a skirt. You can wear it as a tube top. You can wear your pants as a shrug. So minimize buying clothes and maximize using them more. I have learned that."

Janvi experiments a lot with fashion and she recalled an incident where she cut a dress and modified it into a skirt and top. She said, "I got a very cute dress from H&M but it was too short. So I decided to cut that in half and turn it into a skirt and top."

Talking about her favourite fashion brands she also added that she loves 'Diesel' a lot and has been shopping a lot from there lately.

The Most Viral Reel:

Janvi, being both a dancer and a fashion influencer, shared that the reel that went most viral was a GTA trend that she had done, which fetched her a whopping 35 million views.

"So this is my like a flex. I created this GTA trend in which I am wearing the outfit and styling myself as a GTA character. So because the GTA music was very trending, a lot of people were walking in GTA walk and I was like, why not create something different? So, I made this real, which got around 35 million views."

Janvi is one of India’s top fashion influencers, and recently she too teamed up with top Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone to promote a skincare line.
