Asia's 50 Best Restaurants 2023: The event took place on March 28 (Tuesday), with Bangkok topping the list, and three Indian restaurants also making the cut. Check out the full list here.

The 11th edition of the 'Asia's 50 Best Restaurants awards was held in Singapore on March 28 (Tuesday). Three restaurants from India made it to the list this year.

Bangkok Gets Top Spot:

Bangkok is known for its street cuisine and has some of the most well-known street food markets in the world, attracting thousands of tourists daily. Yet, the city has recently established a reputation for itself in the realm of excellent cuisine. The top spot on the prestigious list went to Le Du, a restaurant in the centre of Bangkok.

Aside from Le Du, eight other Bangkok-based restaurants made the list, including Gaggan Anand, a Bangkok-based Indian restaurant run by the popular Kolkata-born chef of the same name. Since its inception in 2010, the restaurant has won numerous accolades, including two Michelin stars.

Three Indian Restaurants Make It To The List:

Three Indian restaurants were also named to the list of "Asia's Best Restaurants" in 2023.

Masque, a fine dining restaurant in Mumbai, rose from 21 to 16 this year, continuing its steady rise from 32 the previous year. Delhi's Indian Accent also climbed to number 19, up from number 22 last year. Avartana, located in the luxurious ITC Grand Chola hotel in Chennai, made a spectacular debut, ranking 30th and winning the trophy for the Highest New Entry.

However, Megu, a restaurant at The Leela New Delhi that debuted last year and was ranked 48th, was left off the list.

Japan has the most restaurants in terms of a country, with ten making the top 50. Seven come from Tokyo, one from Kyoto, one from Osaka, and one from Wakayama. Singapore has nine restaurants on the Top 50 list, but only Odette (ranked sixth) is among the top ten.
