Shivaji Satam Says CID Makers Haven't Informed Him About ACP Pradyuman’s Death: 'If My Track Is Over...'

The makers of CID have officially confirmed that ACP Pradyuman will no longer be part of the show, with Sony TV’s Instagram account announcing the character's death.

The makers of CID have officially confirmed that ACP Pradyuman will no longer be part of the show, with Sony TV’s Instagram account announcing the character's death. However, it appears that Shivaji Satam was not informed about this decision. In a recent interview, Satam shared that he had simply taken a break and wasn’t told whether his character’s storyline had ended.

Shivaji Satam on ACP Pradyuman's exit from CID

Speaking with Bombay Times, Shivaji Satam addressed the reports suggesting that ACP Pradyuman was killed off in CID's latest episode. The actor shared, "I have no clue about this. I have taken a break for some time, and the makers know what lies ahead in the show. I have learnt to take everything in my stride, and if my track is over, I am okay with it. However, I have not been told whether my track is over or not! As of now, I am not shooting for the show."

He also said that he was travelling in May with his son, which is why he took a break. "I am planning to go on a holiday in May, because my son who lives abroad is coming to India. I have enjoyed playing ACP for 22 years in the earlier season. It has been a great journey. The show has given me a lot. As of now I am just taking a break and am going to enjoy my life. I have worked hard, and everyone deserves a break. Whether my track will be revived or not is something the makers know well," he added.

CID new episode

The latest episode of CID featured the team attempting to capture the notorious criminal Barboza (played by Tigmanshu Dhulia), who traps ACP Pradyuman in a deadly situation and appears to kill him in an explosion. However, the character’s death wasn’t explicitly shown on screen, sparking speculation that ACP Pradyuman might make a return.

Late Saturday night, Sony shared an image of ACP Pradyuman on Instagram, accompanied by the words, "In the loving memory of ACP Pradyuman… A loss that will never be forgotten."

Satam's portrayal of ACP Pradyuman became a favorite on late-night TV in India for more than 25 years. CID, created by BP Singh and produced by Singh and Pradeep Uppoor, has been airing on Sony TV since 1998.
