The friend and business partner of the late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, Varun Mathur has reached the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for questioning. Mathur who is the Director of Innsaei Ventures, which Sushant launched with him in April 2018. was summoned by the ED on Wednesday in connection with its money laundering probe. According to ED officials, the agency wanted to know about the kind of investments Sushant made in the firm. The official said that the financial probe agency also wanted to inquire about the kind of business the firm was handling and whether Sushant was only a Director along with Mathur and Saurabh Mishra. The ED has so far recorded the statement of Sushant's girlfriend Rhea, her brother Showik, father Indrajit, Sushant's ex-manager Shruti Modi, his flatmate Siddharth Pithani and others. • In the latest updates, it was revealed that his relationship with his family may not have been as strained as it was being portrayed. According to the latest report the late actor had named his sister as a nominee in his investments in a private bank. A report by IANS says that a screenshot of chats shared between Sushant and his investment planner, whose name was withheld, shows that the actor had discussed making her sister Priyanka Singh a nominee.
  • SSR’s family lawyer Vikas Singh addressed a press conference and said that the actor's family was unaware of his mental illness. He slammed the campaign which has been started related to Sushant’s mental health. He said, “Our FIR has been in the public domain from the very beginning. It is not as if the channels do not know what the FIR says. Despite what has been said in the FIR, it has been carried that the family knew about his depression and his being bipolar. The FIR clearly said that after Rhea came into his life, Sushant started having mental problems and she was responsible for his anxiety.”
  • He also refuted the allegations that Sushant's family is after the actor's insurance money. "There are suggestions being given in the media that Sushant had a life insurance policy and the family will not get the money if it was declared that he died by suicide. And it is for this motive, it is being alleged that the suicide theory was later changed to abetment of suicide. I must inform all of you that Sushant had no life insurance policy," he said.
  • The lawyer also said that no film/serial/book on Sushant's life should be made or written without the approval of the 'Raabta' actor's father.
