Music director, actor, and producer Vijay Antony has issued a statement to clear the air after facing criticism over his earlier remarks regarding the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed the lives of several tourists in Kashmir.

Vijay Antony issues clarification

In a fresh post shared on Monday, Vijay Antony stressed that the gruesome killings were carried out by "a monstrous group of terrorists" whose sole intention was to disrupt the unity among Indians. He further asserted that both the Indian government and its citizens would defend the nation's sovereignty with unwavering strength.

Vijay Antony issued a clarification titled, "For those who have misunderstood my message." Reaffirming his stance, he wrote, "The brutal massacre in Kashmir was committed by a monstrous group of terrorists, whose only goal is to break the strong bond of our unity. The Government of India and we, as Indians, will protect our sovereignty with a strong hand."

What Vijay Antony had said

Vijay Antony’s clarification came after his initial condolence message stirred controversy. Reacting to the tragic incident, he had posted on X, "My heartfelt condolences to the families who lost their loved ones in Kashmir. This is a painful moment for all of us as Indians. At the same time, we should be concerned about the 50 lakh Indians in Pakistan, who, along with Pakistanis like us, seek peace and happiness. Let's choose love and humanity over hatred."
