Actor Sidharth Malhotra, who is currently busy promoting his upcoming film ‘Thank God’, spoke about his struggling days in an interview recently.

New Delhi: Actor Sidharth Malhotra is currently busy promoting his upcoming film ‘Thank God’. The actor who made his debut with ‘Student of the Year’, has worked in films like 'Hasee Toh Phasee', 'Shershaah', and many more. Being an outsider, it was not easy for the actor to make his way through Bollywood.

Sidharth spoke about his struggling days in an interview recently and revealed how his family never used to take him seriously when he decided to become an actor.

In a chat with Pinkvilla, the actor said, “It's like a very far-fetched dream to stay in New Delhi and believe in a service background household middle-class household to believe that you become an actor and be on the big screen. My family never used to take me seriously. Because it was not something I was open about it as I was a kid. I wasn’t like there. It was only in my late teens I started facing still cameras and all and then that whole thing. People started seeing different aspects.”

He also revealed his first salary was Rs 7,000 which he gave to his mother and when he received his first pay, he didn't even have a bank account.

Talking about his debut film, ‘Student of the Year’ the actor said, “For me being on that first film, you know getting such massive launch is a big milestone in my life. Now when I look back at 10 years okay great I thought that was the difficult part to get in there. But then I realise the struggles one has to be or go through to sustain themselves. It’s a big task to entertain this country and be in this business.”

The film Thank God, helmed by Indra Kumar, also features Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet Singh and Seema Pahwa. The film will release on October 25, and is Sidharth's first theatrical release after ‘Marjaavaan’ in 2019. His last film ‘Shershaah’ had got an OTT release.
