Sachin Shroff Replaces Shailesh Lodha In 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah': Reports
According to reports, the production team has found Sailesh Lodha’s replacement - popular actor Sachin Shroff has reportedly been roped in to play the role of Taarak Mehta.
New Delhi: 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' is one of the longest-running sitcoms on Indian television. There are many characters that have left or have been replaced in the show. The sitcom's most significant exits were Disha Vakani (who played Daya) and Shailesh Lodha (who played TaaraK Mehta). Though the makers have not found Disha’s replacement, there are reports that a new Taarak Mehta will soon be seen on the show.
According to a report in ETimes, the production team has found Sailesh Lodha’s replacement - popular actor Sachin Shroff has reportedly been roped in to play the role of Taarak Mehta and he has already shot for two days.
There is no official announcement from the show makers yet but according to the report Sachin has already shot for two days.
Sachin Shroff is a known face of the television industry and has acted in shows like 'Balika Vadhu', 'Tumhari Paakhi', 'Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin'. He was also seen in Bobby Deol’s OTT show 'Ashram'.
Sailesh Lodha has been a part of Taarak Mehta since the beginning and is also the Sutradhar on the show. The actor stopped shooting in March 2022 after being associated with the show for 14 years.
The actor soon announced a new poetry show 'Waah Bhai Waah' on Shemaroo TV.
'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' producer and writer Asit Kumarr Modi had spoken to IANS about the actor’s exit. "I spoke to him in length before he left but I could do nothing as he got some new opportunity and was keen to exit. We want him to come back. But I cannot wait for anyone and the show is bigger than each of us and for the audience, I have to look for his replacement if he is not coming back,” he told IANS.
First aired on July 28, 2008, 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' is one of the popular sitcoms that deals with societal issues.
It features Dilip Joshi, Amit Bhatt, Mandar Chandwadkar, Sonalika Joshi, Sunayana Fozdar, Munmun Dutta, and Tanuj Mahashabde, among others.
