Ranveer Singh To Join Hands With S Shankar For An Upcoming Pan-India Project - Report

Ranveer Singh and Shankar previously shared the news that they will be collaborating on a remake of the Tamil language hit film 'Anniyan'.

New Delhi: Ranveer Singh is, without a doubt, one of the most in-demand actors in India right now. The 'Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani' actor is quickly becoming every director's go-to. According to recent reports, Ranveer Singh will soon be teaming up with S. Shankar, one of India's most acclaimed directors.

The pair previously shared the news that they will be collaborating on a remake of the Tamil language hit film 'Anniyan,' which was first released in 2005. However, Ranveer and Shankar have moved on to new endeavours.

Shankar and Bollywood's hottest young star Ranveer Singh are about to team together on a massive, pan-Indian film project. The film is said to be based on the Tamil epic tale Velpari. An important piece of Tamil literature, this book is widely regarded as one of Su Venkatesan's best works.

According to Pinkvilla, a source said, “Shankar wants to make the biggest pan-Indian film by bringing one of the biggest superstars of our generation, superstar Ranveer Singh, to helm this ambitious project - a grand cinematic adaptation of the iconic Tamil epic Velpari.”

The source added, ”The novel has everything to offer – from a larger-than-life hero to incredible life lessons, to a heart-touching love story and magnificent visual-effect sequences whose scale will set the next benchmark of action spectacles in India. It is the wholesome nature of this novel that has got Shankar and Ranveer to come together for this collaboration.”

Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh's most recent film ‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar’ was financially disappointing. He will soon be seen in ‘Cirkus’, directed by Rohit Shetty. In addition, he will co-star with Alia Bhatt in Karan Johar's upcoming romantic comedy ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’. The film is scheduled to make its debut in cinemas some time in 2023.
