Rajkummar Rao Reveals Why Patralekhaa Applied Sindoor On Him At Their Wedding

New Delhi: Rajkummar Rao and Patralekhaa got married in November 2021 and their wedding was a dreamy affair. The wedding had many beautiful moments but one gesture by the couple caught everybody’s attention and broke gender stereotypes. While tying the knot the actor asked his bride to apply Sindoor on his forehead after he applied it on her.

Talking about it, Rajkummar told News18 that though he didn’t read people’s comments, he knows a lot of articles were written on it. “No, not really. I didn’t really read all the comments but I know a lot many people picked it up and a lot of articles were being written, in a good way. People appreciated that and it was something that was very impulsive. None of us planned it. I am somebody who really believes in equality and will never see somebody below me. We both are equal and that’s how it should be. So, yeah, it was very impulsive and wasn’t planned. I am glad it happened and I am hoping that somewhere it stuck people’s hearts," the actor was quoted as saying by News18.

Rajkummar and Patralekhaa were in a relationship for around 11 years before deciding to marry. They had worked together in Hansal Mehta’s film ‘Citylights’.

The actor is currently gearing up for the release of his upcoming movie, 'HIT: The First Case'. The film, which is a remake of the Telugu movie of the same name, also stars Sanya Malhotra. Directed by Sailesh Kolanu, the film will hit theatres on July 15.

He will be next seen in ‘Bheed’ opposite Bhumi Pednekar and in ‘Mr and Mrs Mahi’ with Janhvi Kapoor.
