'My Entire Team Was Present With Me': 'Putul' Director Indira Dhar Mukherjee On Receiving Standing Ovation At Cannes
Indira Dhar Mukherjee's Putul was screened at Cannes on Friday. The film, which features Mumtaz Sorcar, Koneenica Banerjee, and Tanusree Shankar in pivotal roles, received a standing ovation.
The Cannes Film Festival is going on in full swing and a number of Indian films have been screened at the coveted film festival this year. The list includes 'Manthan', Payal Kapadia’s ‘All We Imagine as Light’ and many more. Out of all these films, a Bengali film made its way to Cannes this year. Indira Dhar Mukherjee's 'Putul' was screened at the Marche Du Film – Festival de Cannes on Friday. The film, which features Mumtaz Sorcar, Koneenica Banerjee, and Tanusree Shankar in pivotal roles, received a standing ovation.
Indira Dhar Mukherjee On 'Putul' Receiving A Standing Ovation:
'Putul' was Indira's debut film and focuses on future generations of India and the responsibility of citizens.
"I was sitting in the front row during the screening and when I turned back, I saw that people had stood up and they were all clapping. Receiving a standing ovation was really a big thing," Indira Dhar Mukherjee told ABP Live.

Indira Dhar Mukherjee On Her Experience At Cannes:
Talking about her experience at Cannes, Indira told ABP Live, "I am elated. For a debut director, this achievement means a lot. Moreover, it was a self-made entry to the Cannes. I am really overwhelmed by the kind of response my countrymen have given me here. I also met Rehman Sir here. One thing I have to say is that almost my entire team was present with me here at Cannes. Tanushree Shankar, Arghyakamal Mitra, Mumtaz Sorcar, and everyone else came for the screening."
Before attending Cannes, Indira shared a picture of her entry on Instagram with the caption, "Cannes ward Ho!"
