'People Didn’t Have Nice Things To Say': Shruti Haasan Talks About Her Initial Days In The Industry
Shruti Haasan reflected on the time when she was just starting out in her profession.
New Delhi: Throughout her career, Shruti Haasan has never been one to hold back from giving her honest review of the entertainment business. The actress recently said that she struggled greatly in her early years. In an interview, Shruti reflected on the time when she was just starting out in her profession and was told she couldn't wear anything she wanted. She also said that she didn't want to offend anybody with her frankness or to tread on anyone's toes.
Shruti discussed her film career with Pinkvilla, saying, "You go with the good intention to do the best you can. Some work, some don’t like you, and that doesn’t matter as long as you can look and say ‘am improving with every film, learning with every film’. For me, when I joined the industry, people didn’t have nice things to say but today, they do, and I’m thankful for that."
Shruti remembered that when she first started posting photos of herself without using a filter on social media, people tried to control her behaviour. She said, “I have been frank and open about who I am. When I joined the industry, people were like you can’t dress yourself this way or speak because people won’t understand it. After a particular age, I was not hurting anyone and not trying to step on people’s toes but being myself and I need to share that. Social media gives us an avenue to be ourselves. Not saying everyone has to do it, but this is the way I enjoy doing it.”
Shruti's next film appearance will be in Daphne Schmon's feature ‘The Eye’. According to Hollywood news source Deadline, Mark Rowley will also appear in the psychological thriller. There's also Christos Stergioglou, Linda Marlowe, and Anna Savva in the cast.
She will also feature in ‘Salaar,’ a Prashanth Neel production in which she co-stars with Prabhas.
