Former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly has become the center of speculation after he was spotted in a police uniform during a shoot for ‘Khakee: The Bengal Chapter’.

Former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly has become the center of speculation after he was spotted in a police uniform during a shoot for ‘Khakee: The Bengal Chapter’, an upcoming Netflix crime thriller. His presence in the campaign has led to rumours about a possible cameo in the series, though the makers remain tight-lipped about it.

When asked about Ganguly’s potential role in the show, Neeraj Pandey, who is the showrunner of the series, was caught off guard before responding with a playful, "As far as Sourav is concerned… well, keep looking."  

While this cryptic reply fueled curiosity, a source close to the production told PTI that there is no official confirmation of Ganguly making his acting debut, even in a minor role. He has appeared in one of the promotional videos.

"He turned up in one of the promotional videos shot in Baruipur," the source was quoted as saying by PTI. 

The buzz intensified after images of the cricketing legend in a khaki uniform from the Baruipur shoot went viral. Fans began speculating whether he was stepping into the world of acting. 

The promotional videos featuring Ganguly are expected to be unveiled ahead of the show’s OTT premiere, adding to the excitement surrounding the series.  

About Khakee: The Bengal Chapter

Set in early 2000s Kolkata, 'Khakee: The Bengal Chapter' revolves around an IPS officer’s battle against organised crime in the city. The gritty narrative explores the dark realities of the criminal underworld, making it a highly anticipated follow-up to 'Khakee: The Bihar Chapter'. The trailer of the series was released on Wednesday at an event in Kolkata. 

The ensemble cast features Jeet, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Saswata Chatterjee, and Parambrata Chatterjee, along with Ritwik Bhowmik, Aadil Zafar Khan, Chitrangada Singh, Pooja Chopra, Aakanksha Singh, Mimoh Chakraborty, and Shraddha Das.   

The promotional videos featuring Ganguly are expected to be unveiled ahead of the show’s OTT premiere, adding to the excitement surrounding the series.
