Actor Kamal Hassan starrer ‘Indian 2’, Shankar's sequel to the 1996 blockbuster film ‘Indian’, released in theatres last month to an underwhelming reception. The movie will be available for streaming on Netflix in a bunch of languages starting on August 9, according to the announcement of its OTT release date.

The official X (formerly Twitter) page of the platform announced that 'Indian 2' will be offered for streaming on Netflix in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam starting on August 9.

Less than a month after its theatrical release on July 12, the movie is now available for streaming on the OTT platform. Due to the mediocre reception the sequel to the popular movie received from both critics and viewers upon its theatrical release, the filmmakers decided to cut 20 minutes from the film.

In 'Indian 2' Senapathy's (Kamal Hassan) journey is continued, where Kamal Haasan plays the same role. A group of young people call on him, so he goes back to India to fight corruption. Through social media, a group of pals uncover national corruption and ask him for help.

Besides Kamal, other actors to star in the film are Siddharth, Vivek, Bobby Simha, SJ Suryah, Rakul Preet Singh, and Priya Bhavani Shankar. Although Kajal Aggarwal also tried out for the movie, Shankar revealed that her character would only feature in 'Indian 3'.
