Rising cinematographer Om Shishir Pathak is turning heads once again, this time with his multi-faceted work on the upcoming music video for “Lauryn Hill” by popular artist Bryce Vine, featuring hip-hop duo Flyana Boss. The video, directed by Gabriel Hostetler, is set to release under the Sony/Vevo banner and promises to deliver a vibrant, energetic visual experience.

Om didn’t just work as the Director of Photography on this project—he also took on the roles of Producer and Colorist. His involvement at every level helped shape the video’s overall creative vision, ensuring every detail was aligned from start to finish.

“Wearing multiple hats on a project of this scale was definitely a challenge,” Om shared. “But it also gave me the opportunity to keep the visual and production goals consistent throughout.”

From managing the budget and scouting top-tier locations to leading a high-performing crew, Om had a hand in nearly every aspect of production. Despite working within tight financial constraints, he and the team pulled off a video that feels rich in cinematic flair.

The visuals boast a variety of dynamic techniques—sweeping JIB shots, smooth Steadicam movements, and high-speed car rig sequences—all of which required precise planning and coordination. Om noted that the car shots, in particular, involved working closely with trained stunt drivers and experienced rigging teams to maintain both safety and style.

“Our goal was to create a world that felt alive and cinematic, but still true to the vibe of the song,” Om explained. “Every choice—from how the camera moved to how we lit each scene—was designed to match the energy of the track.”

Om also praised the collaborative environment on set. Working with director Gabriel Hostetler, as well as artists Bryce Vine and Flyana Boss, was a creatively fulfilling experience. “Everyone brought passion and professionalism to the table,” he said. “The chemistry between the artists and the crew really helped the vision come together.”

As the music video for “Lauryn Hill” nears its release, Om Shishir Pathak’s behind-the-scenes work is a clear example of his growing influence in the world of music videos and visual storytelling. His ability to take on multiple roles—and excel at each—sets him apart as a creative powerhouse to watch.

“Lauryn Hill” is slated to premiere soon on Sony/Vevo, and audiences can expect a high-energy, visually striking experience that matches the strength of the music.
