Netizens Ask SS Rajamouli To Not Promote 'Brahmastra' Amidst Boycott Trend

SS Rajamouli is also responsible for presenting 'Brahmastra' to Southern states

New Delhi:'Brahmastra' opened to a positive advance booking trend, especially after the pre-release event in Hyderabad where the likes of SS Rajamouli, Jr. NTR Rao also promoted the film. The 'Brahmastra' pre-release event in Hyderabad created much stir in media and headlined news for various reasons like the ones mentioned above, and with Alia Bhatt singing 'Kesariya' in Telugu and Ranbir speaking Telugu.

As positive sentiment for Ayan Mukerji's film began to be felt, many on Twitter and other social platforms asked all to call off the 'Boycott Brahmastra' call and give the Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer a chance.

Amidst the same trend, a section of users on social media also asked 'RRR' director SS Rajamouli to stop supporting 'Brahmastra' again firing the 'Boycott Brahmastra trend'.

SS Rajamouli had also supported the film on social media and tweeted about it. "Brahmāstra is one of its kind films in the Indian Cinema. After traveling with #BRAHMASTRA for the past 9 years, Ayan is finally bringing it on to the big screens on September 9th," his tweet read along with a video of him speaking about the film.

A thread of comments on Rajamouli's tweet was divided over his support for 'Brahmastra'. A user wrote, "Sir you shouldn't associate with this movie. I know you did to keep the heart of Karan Johar," While another user wrote, "I wish every actor and director had supported and presented RRR the same way you are presenting this film.”

A comment read, "Sir pls don't support #Brahmastra. These #Bollywood people are just using your popularity. #KaranJohar is mafia of this industry always made fun of #SouthIndian cinema and stars and never allowed to give them screens in #Hindi belt.#boycottbrahmashtra.”

For the unaware, SS Rajamouli has been very much involved in the making of 'Brahmastra'. He is also responsible for presenting the film to Southern states.

'Brahmastra' is a three-part fantasy epic featuring Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy among others. The film is slated to release on September 9, 2022.
