Tollywood Actress Kavya Thapar Arrested For Assaulting, Abusing Police
The police have registered a case against her under section 353,504,332,427 of IPC and have started the investigation.
Tollywood actress Kavya Thapar was arrested for assaulting and abusing the police, said the Juhu police on Friday.
She was produced in the Andheri court after which the court sent her to judicial custody on charges of engaging in a scuffle and using abusive language with the police.
The incident took place on Thursday morning after she hit a car and injured a person under the influence of alcohol, according to the police.
Mumbai Police Zone 9 DCP Manjunath Shinge told ABP News that the police got a call early in the morning about the accident and that a woman was creating a ruckus. Soon after, a police team reached the spot, where Kavya abused a female policeman and then grabbed the collar of a female officer and beat her up. Police have taken her into custody for assault and taken to Juhu police station.
According to sources, accident happened in front of JW Marriott Hotel in Juhu and Kavya was fighting with people there and she was not even conscious. The police have registered a case against her under section 353,504,332,427 of IPC and have started the investigation.
Thapar’s made her debut in field of entertainment with a Hindi short film titled Tatkal. She has also worked in multiple advertisements including Patanjali, MakeMyTrip and Kohinoor. She made her debut in Telugu films with E Maya Peremito that was released in 2018 and since then acted in several south Indian film.
Kavya Thapar was also seen in the film 'Ek Mini Katha' that was released on a popular OTT platform last year.
