Akshay, who was last seen in ‘Laxmii’, re-tweeted Ministry of External Affairs Anurag Srivastava’s statement and asked his followers to support ‘an amicable resolution’ and not pay attention to anyone who creates differences’.

“Farmers constitute an extremely important part of our country. And the efforts being undertaken to resolve their issues are evident. Let’s support an amicable resolution, rather than paying attention to anyone creating differences,” the ‘Sooryavanshi’ actor wrote on the micro-blogging site.

Ajay Devgn also posted a tweet and stressed on the importance of standing united at the moment. “Don’t fall for any false propaganda against India or Indian policies. Its important to stand united at this hour w/o any infighting,” Devgn tweeted. He used the hashtags- #IndiaTogether and #IndiaAgainstPropaganda while sharing the post.

Filmmaker Karan Johar tweeted, "We live in turbulent times and the need of the hour is prudence and patience at every turn. Let us together, make every effort we can to find solutions that work for everyone—our farmers are the backbone of India. Let us not let anyone divide us. #IndiaTogether."

"We must always take a comprehensive view of things, as there is nothing more dangerous than half truth," Suniel Shetty wrote while re-tweeting MEA's statement.

For the uninitiated, Rihanna had extended her support to the farmers’ protest and criticized the internet shutdown on social media. She tweeted, “why aren’t we talking about this?” Her post created several eyeballs as she was the first global artist to express her views on the ongoing protest in India against the farm laws.

The MEA released an official statement on Wednesday (February 3), defending the three farm laws and slamming the celebs who commented on the ongoing agitation. “The temptation of sensationalist social media hashtags and comments, especially when resorted to by celebrities and others, is neither accurate nor responsible,” the Ministry said in a statement.
