Mujhse Shaadi Karogi Sequel In The Works Without Salman, Akshay, And Priyanka?

Reports suggest that a sequel to the 2004 blockbuster film 'Mujhse Shaadi Karogi' is in the works, but without the original lead cast.

New Delhi: Priyanka Chopra, Salman Khan, and Akshay Kumar had a hilarious love triangle in the 2004 blockbuster 'Mujhse Shaadi Karogi', which had viewers laughing and singing the songs for years. But what if none of the three cherished characters appear in the follow-up? It seems that the creators are contemplating just that.

Reportedly, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, and Priyanka Chopra will not be returning for the sequel of 'Mujhse Shaadi Karogi'. According to Pinkvilla, a source told, "Mujhse Shaadi Karogi 2 is currently in the scripting stage, and the final outcome of it being made depends on how the script shapes up."

'Mujhse Shaadi Karogi' Sequel Is In Scripting Stage

Furthermore, the insider said that casting would commence if Sajid Nadiadwala is happy with the screenplay; otherwise, the picture can be cancelled.

"If Sajid is happy with the script, he will start the casting process, or else put the film on the back burner. The idea is to make another comedy of errors with three leads," the insider said.

Many are taken aback by this development, since the original film's charisma was built on the charming competition between Sunny (Akshay Kumar) and Samir (Salman Khan) to win over Rani (Priyanka Chopra).

Priyanka Chopra recently commemorated the film's 20th anniversary on Instagram by posting a collage of vintage images of herself and her co-stars. “20 years of being Rani! Woah! Those brows tho…” she wrote in her story.

The David Dhawan–directed romantic comedy 'Mujhse Shaadi Karogi' was well-received by audiences for its infectious tunes, charming characters, and hilarious slapstick. We will have to wait and see whether the sequel will manage to recapture the enchantment without the original actors.
