Sushant Singh Rajput's fans expressed their displeasure over Ranveer Singh's new ad in which he talked about scientific terms.

New Delhi: Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh received flak on social media for allegedly trying to make fun of late Sushant Singh Rajput in a new advertisement that recently hit the airwaves. SSR's fans expressed their displeasure over the 'Padmaavat' actor's new ad in which he talked about scientific terms like 'algorithm' and 'photon'. Several netizens called out Ranveer and accused him of mocking Sushant, who had an inclination towards science and stars. In the promotional video, Ranveer can be seen attending a house party in which an elderly person asked him 'Aage Kya Plan Hai' (what are your plans for future?) While the 'Gully Boy' actor was busy gorging on the snacks, uncles and aunties suggested him several ideas. After consuming the snack, Singh used several scientific words to put an end to the talk. Sushant, who was found dead at his apartment in Mumbai on June 14, often mentioned algorithms in his posts on Instagram. The 'Dil Bechara' actor was even approached to play the lead role in 'Chanda Mama Door Ke'. The film reportedly got shelved. Several fans of the 'Chhichhore' actor trended the hashtag #BoycottBingo as they believed the ad tried to mock their favourite star. They even slammed Ranveer and questioned his educational qualifications. Some of the tweets were distasteful and didn't deserve to be mentioned.
The official spokesperson of ITC issued a statement after the brand received backlash on social media. The brand clarified that the said ad was shot in October 2019 but it couldn't release because of the delay in the launch of the snack due to COVID-19 pandemic.
