Besharam Rang Row: CBFC Asks Shah Rukh Khan-Starrer Pathaan Makers To Make Changes In Film, Songs
The spy flick Pathaan's makers has been asked by the CBFC to submit a reworked version of the film.
New Delhi: The uproar surrounding the upcoming Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer 'Pathaan' has not yet faded away. According to the chairman of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), Prasoon Joshi, the film's producers have now been directed to make "changes" to the film, including the songs.
The spy action flick 'Pathaan's producer, Yash Raj Films, has been asked by the CBFC to submit a reworked version in accordance with board regulations. Joshi did not, however, go into specifics about the modifications that were recommended to the producers.
The CBFC chairman asserted that the goal was to create a balance between the creators' ideas and the audience's sentiments.
"The committee has guided the makers to implement the advised changes in the film including the songs and submit the revised version prior to theatrical release,” Joshi said in a statement to PTI.
"I must reiterate that our culture and faith is glorious, intricate and nuanced. And we have to be careful that it does not get defined by trivia which takes the focus away from the real and the true. And like I have said earlier as well, that the trust between creators and audience is most important to protect and the creators should keep working towards it,” he added.
Following the release of the song 'Besharam Rang' on December 12, the Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer movie 'Pathaan' found itself facing criticism and demands for a ban.
The Hindutva activists across the country have raised objections to the dance sequence where Shah Rukh Khan is wearing a green colour shirt and Deepika is flaunting a saffron outfit.
'Pathaan' is directed by Siddharth Anand and is all set to release on Jan 25, 2023 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
