When & Where To Watch Karate Kid: Legends On OTT: Full Release Date, Time & Other Deets
Karate Kid: Legends, starring Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio, is now available for digital purchase. Here's how to watch it and when it’s expected on Netflix.

The martial arts legacy continues as 'Karate Kid: Legends' officially drops on digital platforms this Tuesday, July 8, 2025. Featuring the much-anticipated return of Jackie Chan as Mr. Han and Ralph Macchio as Daniel LaRusso, the latest installment brings back nostalgic energy while introducing a bold new chapter.
The film, directed by Jonathan Entwistle and penned by Rob Lieber, also marks the debut of Ben Wang as Li Fong—a fresh face at the center of the story. Fans of the franchise, especially those following Cobra Kai, will recognize callbacks and familiar tones, but the film boldly carves its own direction.
“Karate Kid: Legends becomes available to rent or buy across digital platforms like Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV and Fandango At Home,” confirms Decider.
How to Watch ‘Karate Kid: Legends’ Right Now
Starting at midnight ET on July 8 (or 9 p.m. PT on July 7), the film is available for rent or purchase via major digital retailers. Pricing will differ slightly depending on the platform, but on Amazon, viewers can expect to rent it for $19.99 or buy it for $24.99.
For those who rent, there’s a 30-day window to start watching and a 48-hour window to finish once playback begins.
Is Netflix Streaming Coming Soon?
Although not available on any subscription service at the moment, 'Karate Kid: Legends' is expected to eventually land on Netflix—thanks to the existing content agreement between Sony and the streaming giant. This deal grants Netflix first dibs on streaming Sony titles during what’s called the Pay 1 window, shortly after digital and home release.
Looking at previous Sony releases, timelines have varied. While some films like 'Kraven the Hunter' arrived in roughly three months, others debuted even sooner.
Given that 'Karate Kid: Legends' premiered in theaters back in May 2025, the movie could hit Netflix as early as late August or early September. However, this projection remains unofficial for now.
While You Wait, Cobra Kai is Still on Netflix
If you're holding out for 'Karate Kid: Legends' to stream without the price tag, now’s a good time to dive back into 'Cobra Kai'—which remains available on Netflix. The series ties in closely with the broader Karate Kid saga and may offer some context for new viewers ahead of watching Legends.
While early critic reviews have been a mixed bag, the return of beloved characters and the promise of a new journey make 'Karate Kid: Legends' a notable entry for fans old and new.
